Book Beginning/The Friday 56 -4/21/2017

Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice and Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. The idea is to share a sentence or so from the first page and the 56th page of the book you are currently reading!  Also, I will now also include a brief synopsis.

The Forever Summer

A Brief Synopsis:  The discovery of long-buried secrets brings three generations of women together to Cape Cod for the summer homecoming of a lifetime.

Marin Bishop has always played by the rules, and it's paid off: on the cusp of thirty she has a handsome fiancé, a prestigious Manhattan legal career, and her father's hard-won admiration. But with one careless mistake at work, Marin suddenly finds herself unemployed and alone. Before she can summon the courage to tell her parents, a young woman appears, claiming to be Marin's half-sister. Seeking answers, Marin agrees to join her on a soul-searching journey to Cape Cod, to meet the family she didn't even know she had.

As the summer unfolds at her grandmother's beachside B&B, it becomes clear that her half-sister's existence is just the first in a series of truths that will shake Marin's beliefs--in love, and in her own identity--to the core. Filled with shocking revelations, heartfelt romance, and resilient women banding together against the most unexpected twists of fate, THE FOREVER SUMMER is an emotionally resonant page-turner, and a delicious escape for any season.

Beginning of the Book

The annual opening of the Beach Rose Inn marked the unofficial start of summer.

She checked her phone obsessively  hoping for something from Julian.

I'm just started this today and am not very far into it; not yet even up to page 56.

    1. I'm hoping to also. I've been so slumpy lately. A couple good books recently, but more that have been just average or not even that!

    1. Never have been to Cape Cod except in books, but it sounds like a great place, at least in the summer! I need a Wordpress account to comment on your blog, so I can't leave a comment there. Not really into horror any longer. I used to like Dean Koontz.

    1. I'm only on the third chapter and the chapters are somewhat short except the next one is a bit longer. It's promising; I like the premise of the story, so we'll see.

  10. Except for the fact I am not really caring for the characters. The story itself is good, though.
